Uncharted: The Lost Legacy New Cinematic and Release Date Revealed

Naughty Dog reveals a new in-game cinematic and confirms an August release date for the Uncharted DLC.

The Naughty Dog Team have a lot on their plate right now. The development of Last of Us Part II is fully underway and they are expanding the Uncharted universe with a new adventure, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Details on either project are scarce right now but Naughty Dog has just released exciting news about the later. Lost Legacy will launch on August 22, 2017, in North America for $39.99 USD, $49.99 CAD and August 23rd in Europe. Check out the new footage below.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will be a stand-alone adventure set within the Uncharted universe although without series protagonist Nathan Drake. Instead, Naughty Dog is putting players in control of thief Chloe Frazer, voiced by Claudia Black, and taking them to an entirely new location. Chloe will be joined by Uncharted 4 antagonist and professional mercenary Nadine Ross (Laura Bailey) on the hunt for the legendary Tusk of Ganesh in India. The story will take place about a year after the events of Uncharted 4 so don’t expect to see happily retired Nathan Drake at all. The cinematic alludes to a new para-military threat that the duo is racing to find the lost treasure and offers some insight into Chloe’s family.

Naughty Dog promises that this new title will feature an all-new rich storyline, cinematic set piece moments, and classic Uncharted gameplay although fans will notice a few changes. The team is continuing the trend from Uncharted 4 to build larger more open maps, in fact, it will feature the largest single map in the series. Nate’s notebook will be replaced by Chloe’s cell phone and, as seen in previous footage, there will be new mechanics such as lockpicking. The team has also been refining character animations.

Uncharted Lost Legacy Tusk
The Tusk of Ganesh is The Lost Legacy’s MacGuffin and the ladies have their own key to help them find it, and presumably get through the overly complicated ancient locks that are hiding it.

Naughty Dog also took the chance to remind fans that Jak and Daxter, are on their way to the PS4 later this year. All four of the PS2 classics will be available but anyone who pre-ordered The Lost Legacy through participating retailers will receive a free download of Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy for PS4 when it is released. If you purchased Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Digital Deluxe Edition, Explorer’s Pack, or the Triple Pack, you’ll get Uncharted: The Lost Legacy as a digital download at launch although you will lose out on the other pre-order bonuses.
